Our Story
Our journey began in 1947 with the birth of Pasquale Vescio in Lamezia Terme, Italy. At nine, he started working in his cousin's bakery, earning only bread to help feed his ten siblings.
As he grew, Pasquale's talent was recognized across Italy—in Florence, Rome, and Naples. At 22, he migrated to Australia, working various jobs, including at Glenroy Lumber Mills and local factories. In 1979, the Vescio family bought a bakery on Queensberry Street, North Melbourne, living above it for six years.
Pasquale's traditional Italian bread quickly became a local sensation, with so many orders that he often worked through the night to keep up.
In 1993, Pasquale relocated his business to North Street, where future generations of the family have continued to run it ever since.
